Hong Kong is now back to its normal winter ambiance which is more foggy and gloomy. Last week's temperature was ranging from 18 - 21 degrees Celsius which is rather really hot compare to what it's supposed to be during Chinese New Year.

Anyway, my friends and I were celebrating our first year anniversary as hikers. Believe it or not, we even have a name for ourselves the - HONG KONG KIKAY HIKERS. By the way kikay in Filipino means "a girl who loves fashion and make up". The thing with our team is that we never hike without a bit of foundation, lip gloss and ok, maybe some swipe of a blush on. We're always ready for pictures and that's just how we are. We're not the type of taking stuff seriously in a way that it's not fun anymore. Let me correct my statement, we do serious stuff too but in our own way that (maybe)other serious hikers may not be able to understand.
Anyway, for our 1 year anniversary hike, we did the Pineapple Dam - Shing Mun trail. It feels like being in Baguio with its cool temperature and mist. (Unfortunately, I haven't been to Baguio, but that's what my friends said!)

Along the way you will see monkeys, unattended cows, paper bark trees, the reservoir and the pineapple dam which are all very picturesque.I just simply love this serene place.
Difficulty: Level 2, good for people 10 yrs. old and above.

How to go: Proceed to exit C of Tsuen Wan mtr then walk your way to Shui Wo street to take the no. 82 minibus. On the way back, you will also need to take the same transportation route.

Duration: 3 - 4 hrs.

Distance: 5 kms.

Recommendation:
- It will be good to start early around 7 am to finish this trail by 11 am.
- Eat light snacks during the hike.
-Once you saw monkeys coming, better hide your food. Remember DO NOT feed the monkeys. There are a lot of them here and you will just get yourself in danger once you started feeding even one of them. Monkeys are still wild animals!
-Never stand too close to the cows, they can just simply kick you in the ass. :)
-Check the weather forecast beforehand and remember to bring a small umbrella - rain or shine.

That will be all for now folks! I hope you enjoy your hike here as much as I did!
